We can survive and we can fail to survive. It depends not on chance, but on whether we create the relevant knowledge in time. The danger is not at all unprecedented: species go extinct all the time. Civilizations end. The overwhelming majority of all species and all civilizations that have ever existed are now history. And if we want to be the exception to that, then logically, our only hope is to make use of the one feature that distinguishes our species and our civilization from all the others, namely our special relationship with the laws of physics, our ability to create new explanations, new knowledge. — David Deutsch, TED July 2005

Universa was founded by and consists of people who want to actively support the creation and sharing of relevant knowledge and experience in time for our species to survive the next millenium and beyond.

We believe ignorance, selfishness and seclusion will not get us there, but only knowledgable, experienced and enthousiastic people will. Or, in other words: people who are willing to share enthousiastically what they have learned and experienced. Those are the people we are eager to support by all means possible, regardless of their age, background or origin, and regardless of their confessional, political or philosophical beliefs.

We do this by funding, sponsoring, promoting and empowering what we call Open Knowledge or "O.K." projects and initiatives, practical research and scientific competitions, scholarships, lectures, talks and conferences, promoting education and the joy of learning, etc.

Universa is funded mainly via private donations, by people who believe we as a species can accomplish great things with our minds, if only we get the opportunity, and a little bit of kind help and positive support from like-minded people.

If you are sympathetic to our cause, we would like to kindly and respectfully ask for your support with a small donation:
